If you're looking for more watery excitement try the bases loisir at Pomport or St.Sernin near Duras. These 'leisure' lakes have huge slides, pedallos, beaches and ice cream shops, picnic areas etc. There is pony trekking at St. Sernin, whilst there is tennis at Pomport; there is fishing at Pomport too.

About 30 mins to the north is Lac du Gurçon which is reputed to have much cleaner water.

There is also Aqualand about 1 hours drive to the south of Bordeaux.
