Local Markets

Going to the markets is good fun and a lot of good quality local produce (edible and crafts) can be seen or bought.

It’s sometimes surprising to be able to buy really fresh fish/seafood outdoors on a hot summer’s day and there are always some colourful characters (sometimes 4-legged and nonchalantly wearing neckerchieves) to make you smile.

Markets generally start up around 8 o’clock in the morning and run through to about 12 or 12.30.

There are markets on most days and here are just a few. We have details of those further afield at Cappe.

Sunday:       Issigeac or Gardonne

Monday:      Duras or Miramont

Tuesday:      Eymet - evening market during July/August

Wednesday: Bergerac (smaller market) or Gardonne

Thursday:    Eymet

Saturday:    Ste. Foy la Grande or Bergerac (main market)

During July and August there are evening markets in some towns - more crafty and less fruit & veg - although there's still plenty of food to eat. In Eymet they are on Tuesdays and in Duras on Fridays
