At our cottages you can spread out and relax whilst the children can run and play safely in the grounds. However, the region offers many diversions for visitors, for example: You can visit sites that date back to virtually the dawn of time at the Lascaux Caves in the cliffs that flank the river Dordogne. You can take riverboats from La Roque-Gageac and admire the beauty of the river; go to Norbert More recent, i.e. 12th century, castles and fortresses that figures in the 100 Years War. Richard the Lionheart stayed at Beynac between 1189-1199 There are many sports and other activities. There are many areas to explore, restaurants and vineyards to visit, markets and festivals to attend. The area caters for all tastes and age groups and there is lots to do - or nothing at all if you prefer! The following pages and the links to other sites cover just a small section of what is available and provide, hopefully, a few pointers. However, if you have specific interests it will pay you to do some research in advance to ensure that you really enjoy your holiday. We hope that you will find our many links to other sites useful - please tell us of any interesting ones that you find and we will add in links to them from this site. Many of the leisure activities are well established and, in general, are not too dear. However, in the high season, you might well find that booking in advance is advisable. Generally speaking, the cost of living and eating-out are lower than in the UK with £1 = €1.4-1.45 With the average lunchtime 3 or 4 course meal in local resturants costing just 11 Euro's!!!! The weather here is very temperate - similar to the Mediterranean, but without the Mistral. Click on the sun to find out what it will be like in the next few days! | |||||||||||
